What is the most rewarding part of your career as a language teacher? The interactions with the students, the success they feel when they get it.

What is one personal or professional goal that you have for yourself, your school or your department?  To continually improve myself as a teacher, to find what works for my students and do that.

What is one of your favorite travel experiences?  In March 2000, I went to Chihuahua for 10 days and had so much fun.  I’m still friends with my hostess.

Do you have any advice for other world language teachers?  Vary it up. Invent new games and procedures. Let them invent games. Keep the students engaged.  Find reward and motivation systems that work, especially for kids who are difficult or hard to reach.  I never teach a year the same way I taught the previous year. Don’t be afraid to ditch the textbook. ABOVE ALL, HAVE FUN! ​
