MALT membership includes membership to the Pacific Northwest Council for Languages, or PNCFL, and all associated benefits. Membership in the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, or ACTFL, and individual language organization is separate and not included in MALT Membership.

Benefits of membership include discounted registration at our annual conference in the Spring, workshops in conjunction with the MEA/MFT Conference in October, and a professional community full of resources, including access to past conference resources on our website.  In order to be nominated for our yearly MALT awards which serve as our state nominations for the corresponding yearly PNCFL awards (Teacher of the Year and Ray Verzasconi Postsecondary Language Teacher of the Year), you must be a current member for 3 consecutive years, according to PNCFL requirements.  The MALT award for Outstanding Contributions to the Teaching of World Languages does not have a membership requirement. Your member dues go toward paying for our conference keynote speakers and all other expenses associated with hosting the Spring and Fall conferences, yearly PNCFL dues, as well as supporting this website.

MALT MEMBER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

If you are interested in becoming a member of MALT but funds are an issue, please consider applying for a 2-year scholarship, provided by generous contributions by your fellow members in order to grow our organization and reach out our colleagues who are interested in membership but may not have the means. For more information please click on the link above to read a letter from our President explaining more about MALT and the scholarship.
